Your hype girl, sounding board, designer, and friend! I design branding and websites for business owners who want to pave the way in their industry.
And we love her for always coming back to me for designs for each of the business adventures she’s about to take off on.
Shalene is an incredibly talented and inspiring business owner, not only to me, but I feel like I speak for a lot of people when I say this! Shalene has successfully opened and run multiple successful businesses, with like 4 kids!? Super woman.
In 2023, I believe, Shalene came to me for her main business, Western Blonde Salon. We created a high-end professional site for her salon that clients can come, find a stylist, and book with them easily!
One of my favorite sections was this handwritten portion on the about page. Each girl hand-wrote their answers to a list of questions I provided, and then when you clicked on the girl’s name in the full list, it would open up this canvas to show their answers – written by them! It was so fun to create.

Western Blonde Salon has grown so much that when they came back for their 2025 website refresh, we had to do away with this section because they just had SO many girls that all the images for text was slowing down the page and getting the content from the girls was getting challenging – IYKYK.
For the original website Shalene had it on WordPress and was unable to edit it herself because of the coding the developer used. The old site was so basic, had typos, and was so short it just looked like a boring ol’ boy did it and did it sloppy.
SO we took their more recent photos from the photo shoot and brought the site to life on Showit.
I created the brand’s creative direction for the site, because she had a logo she was happy with, I added some additional logo variations like this monogram for the favicon and other smaller areas on the site that the whole logo wouldn’t look right. We assigned the colors and the fonts. Gave the fonts a job (heading, subheading, accent, and body) and then sent Shalene a big ol’ document that reminds her how to use each color and font exactly how it is used on the website to ensure consistency. I also exported the new logos in every color way.

Fast-forward to 2025, Shalene did the funnest photoshoot with the salon girls and wanted to do just a little font upgrade and color refresh on the site to go with the new photos. Here are a few:

Aren’t they so fun!? I’m obsessed. For the update, it really was not a huge change. We changed some of the header fonts away from the overly western vibes and brought in a clean serif that makes the whole page feel less like a saloon and more like a really elevated salon.
Another update we had to go in and make was the SECOND LOCATION!! So exciting for them, Shalene just opened her second WBS location in Austin (The first in Georgetown) this year (2025).
Along with the second location we designed and launched GIFT CARDS!! You can grab them on the website if you or someone you know is local to Austin!

She’s got two locations now, so why not start your own line of extensions!? If anyone’s going to do it – it’s Shalene. So I get an email with really no context lol “I started this new line of extensions. It’s called Wild Ivy Hair Co. Let’s do the main color red and some sort of arch.” 🫡 yes ma’am, give me 24 hours.

We made just one logo for this brand because the only place it was going to go was the tags for the extensions and then the pop ups on the website. We also kept the color palette the same as the salon so that it fit right in and looked like it was made to be there! It was.
I send Shalene the new fonts, the colors to use specifically for this one and then the logos in all the color ways.

Next we hopped to the website and added a section for the extensions and a pop up on the home page to announce them!

Next up, she wanted to add a little brand for the men of Western Blonde Salon and we called it “Western Gents”.

This year, Shalene acquired a boutique! She moved it into the Georgetown location of the salon and also wanted it to have an online presence.
Blue Sage Western Wear got the whole glow up! A brand new logo suite, colors, fonts, icons, and messaging strategy. The whole vibe of the boutique is elevated western wear for women. This was so fun to create, their photoshoot for the boutique was so pretty and exciting. One thing about me, I love working with good photography!!

Shalene always talks about her love for animals and says, “I have a soft heart for animals, especially dogs. If I could rescue every one of them, I would. Nature, the sunrise, and the simple moments keep me grounded and grateful every single day.”
She messaged me with an idea for a new business – baking for pups! We used images of her 3 dogs for the logo and I am OBSESSED with how it came out. The color palette to match the “hippie” vibes, the paw print hidden within the W in paws. I love it all so much it is so cute!!

The rebrand and website refresh for Texas Comfort Air. A company she helps her husband run. They came to me with an outdated website that needed to be updated with current information and a little rebrand to incorporate the new tagline, mission and added services. Plus, help them appear a little more modern!
